Liquid Labs is a software consultancy founded by Sri Lankan tech industry veterans (ex-LSEG, ex-Sysco Labs, ex-Different). We provide high-end product engineering services to customers in Europe, Australia and the US.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Product Owner / Business Analyst to help organize and guide software development teams working in the billing and accounting spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Gathering - Translate high-level business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
  • Backlog Management - Create, prioritize, and maintain a well-refined product backlog based on customer feedback, market trends, and business priorities.
  • Sprint Planning & Execution -Work closely with the development team to plan and execute sprints, ensuring timely delivery of features.
  • Stakeholder Communication - Act as a liaison between the development team and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity on objectives.
  • Testing - Perform testing to be confident that the product meets requirements and user stories.
  • Documentation - Document feature changes that can be used by internal teams for training and support docs.
  • Support - Work with an internal support team to investigate product support tickets and then work with engineering to resolve any issues that arise.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in a Product Owner / Business Analyst role, working with Agile software development teams and directly interfacing with US / UK / EU / AU clients.
  • Outstanding documentation skills, with strong experience drafting detailed requirements / user stories and acceptance criteria based on high-level client input.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
  • Experience with billing, payment or accounting systems, or accounting related educational qualifications, will be a strong plus.

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner who is passionate about building products that customers love and will take full accountability for the discovery, definition, delivery and performance of products and services in the Catering portfolio.


You will be responsible for understanding and meeting the needs of your users and driving the successful execution of software delivery to deliver user value and commercial success.


Through creative thinking, an evidence-based approach, ruthless prioritisation and a keen focus on user and business value; you will create buy-in for the product development internally and externally, working effectively with your Agile delivery teams and wider business stakeholders.

To do this, you'll build a deep understanding of the users of your products.


We are looking for a strong all-rounder who has experience as a storyteller, customer requirement gathering, technical liaison, user experience development, data analytics and service readiness


Key Responsibilities

· Working with the Product Manager, you will be responsible for understanding and breaking the vision into executable goals, driven by the value to be created, that can be achieved in an iterative manner within your team

· Maximise the value addition to the products

· Use a variety of approaches and techniques (eg. user journey mapping, process mapping, use cases, user story mapping) to understand and communicate requirements

· Translate customer requirements and technical solutions into detailed user stories underpinned by a sound understanding of the business objectives

· Own and evolve the team backlog, ensuring it is detailed, prioritised, well understood, up to date, properly estimated, relevant to delivery time scales. Collaborate with your team to write and manage user stories through to production

· Communicate proficiently with the development team to explain the product features that are to be implemented

· Collaborate within a cross-functional team, listening, facilitating and contributing to drive a common purpose, make decisions and achieve goals as an empowered, autonomous team

· Map and comprehend risks in delivering against goals alongside the Delivery Manager and Technical Lead, reducing and resolving them where possible

· Develop an understanding of the relevant customer and market needs for your product, and consistently reflect these within the team

· Ensure that the product is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards, and managing any legal or ethical considerations relating to the product

· Continuously promote best product practises to foster new ways of working and ensure we deliver successful products

· Gather and share insights about performance of the product (user behaviour)

· Define what success looks like for your product, how we measure success and report on progress towards success

· Manage the full product lifecycle from requirements through to delivery, optimisation and maintenance

· Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understanding their needs and effectively managing their expectations

· Work across the organisation to build service readiness plans for new products – customer education, internal education, product specifications



Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

· 2 years minimum PO experience covering:

· Experience developing commercially valuable products which meet user needs.

· Adept at planning and prioritizing product feature backlogs and contributing to the product roadmap.

· The ability to develop an expert understanding of the customer and market needs and champion these in the delivery of your products

· Have experience of opportunity, problem and solution discovery

· An eye for good user experience design with demonstrable examples of contribution to products in the market

· Experience developing commercially valuable products which meet user needs

· Adept at planning and prioritising product feature backlogs and contributing to the product roadmap

· Competent at analysing product and financial data using business intelligence tools

· The ability to influence across an organisation: Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Service, Customer Success and beyond

· Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix environment

· Work in an agile environment to a product development process that includes hypothesis development, prototype evolution and usability testing

· Working knowledge of relevant legal and compliance matters including GDPR

· Represent the company by working with customers to solicit feedback on products and services

· Experience with Ed tech desirable
