Oracle Database Administrator | Enterprise Analytics
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems to meet the organization's needs for data storage, access, and performance.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching in accordance with best practices and security guidelines.
- Monitor and optimize database performance using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWR reports, and SQL tuning techniques.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access control, data encryption, and auditing.
- Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in the event of failures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
- Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database requirements for new and existing applications.
- Implement and maintain database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Stay current with Oracle database technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for system improvements and enhancements.
- Mentor junior DBAs and provide guidance on best practices for Oracle database administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. (or an Oracle Professional Qualification)
- 4 years of experience working as an Oracle Database Administrator, with a focus on Oracle Database 11g, 12c, or 19c.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle database installation, configuration, and administration.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and other high availability solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database security concepts and best practices.
- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including RMAN and Data Pump.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
